SRINAGAR: On early Friday morning people in Kashmir woke upto the news of Curfew imposed in parts of Srinagar city to stop people from taking out their religious procession.Â
Authorities imposed restrictions in areas falling under six police stations of Srinagar on Friday in view of the Muharram processions and protest call given by Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani.
In an order here Thursday, the District Commissioner Baseer Ahmad Khan said restrictions would be imposed on the moveme
nt of public and transport in the jurisdiction of police stations Shaheed Gunj, Sheerghari, Kothibagh, Maisuma, Kralkhud and Karan Nagar.
The restrictions would be imposed from o600 hours “till further orders,†the order said.
“Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar is directed to implement this order in letter and spirit,†it added. (KMW News)
