Curfew in Diphu after violent protests for separate state

Guwahati: Curfew remained clamped in Assam’s Diphu town after violent protests demanding a separate state comprising the hills districts of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao resumed following the UPA’s nod for Telengana state.

One of the person injured in police firing yesterday in district headquarter Diphu succumbed last night, further aggravating the situation.
