CRPF jawan commits suicide in Doda

Jammu: A jawan of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in the mountainous Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police here said.
“The jawan identified as Ananta Kumar of 76 Battalion, A-Company shot himself with his service rifle this morning while he was on duty,” Mohan Lal, Superintendent of Police, Doda told.
He said the bullet hit in the chest of the jawan and he died on the spot.
“Post-mortem has been conducted and his body will be handed over to his family members,” the SP said, adding that no suicide note was recovered from the deceased.
He added that the jawan was deployed at the residence of MLA Doda Abdul Majeed Wani for security reasons.
