Crime Branch arrest 2 more accused in CET paper leak scam

Srinagar, May 19 (KMW): Tow more persons have been arrested by Crime branch while as Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) has been requested for cancellation of admissions of two more student beneficiaries of Common Entrance Test paper leak scam of 2012.

“As per the directions of High Court on March 20, the details of two candidates whose name were submitted to the court in a sealed cover to this court for having managed admission fraudulently were forwarded to BOPEE on May 7 for further necessary action,” reads the status report filed by Crime Branch in the High Court.

The Crime Branch has further informed the High Court that with the availability of call record and other relevant details, two more candidates Hina Saleem and Omar Manzoor Sheikh were found to be involved in obtaining the question papers in advance to get selected.
“Two more persons namely Mohammad Saleem Mir and Naresh Panditha were arrested on 25 March and are in judicial custody on remand. The supplementary charge-sheet against these four candidates and other accused is being filed shortly for judicial determination,” the Crime Branch has said in its status report.
Now the total number of beneficiary candidates who have been recommended to BOPEE for action has gone upto 25 and the number of accused persons arrested and behind bars is 22. (KMW)
