COVID-19: JK reports 524 new positive cases, 89905 recovered so far

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 05: The Government on Tuesday informed that 524 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 185 from Jammu division and 339 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 97224. Also 06 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 02 from Jammu division and 04 from Kashmir Division.

Moreover, 651 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 174 from Jammu Division and 477 from Kashmir Division.

According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 97224 positive cases, 5802  are Active Positive, 89905 have recovered and 1511 have died; 510 in Jammu division and 1001 in Kashmir division.

The Bulletin further said that out of 2414248 test results available, 2317024 samples have been   tested as negative till November 05, 2020.

Till date 664234 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 16155 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5802 in isolation and 43762 in home surveillance. Besides, 596998 persons have completed their surveillance period.

Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 19990 positive cases (including 155 cases reported today) with 1334 Active Positive, 18286 recovered (including 192 cases recovered today), 370 deaths; Baramulla has 6333 positive cases (including 54 cases reported today) with 1224 Active Positive, 4962 recovered (including 171 cases recovered today), 147 deaths; Pulwama reported 4732 positive cases (including 08 case reported today) with 179 active positive cases, 4470 recovered (including 16 cases recovered today), 83 deaths; Kulgam has 2504 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 83 Active Positive, 2373 recoveries (including 04 cases recovered today), 48 deaths; Shopian has 2245 positive cases (including 15 cases reported today) with 110 Active Positive, 2100 recovered and 35 deaths; Anantnag district has 4274 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 175 Active Positive, 4024 recovered (including 03 cases recovered today), 75 deaths;  Budgam has 6162 positive cases (including 38 cases reported today) with 276 Active Positive and 5792 recovered (including 29 cases recovered today), 94 deaths; Kupwara has 4576 positive cases (including 26 cases reported today) with 402 Active Positive, 4101 recovered (including 38 cases recovered today), 73 deaths; Bandipora has 4102 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 172 Active Positive, 3884 recovered (including 14 cases recovered today), 46 deaths and Ganderbal has 3646 positive cases (including 23 cases reported today) with 223 active positive cases, 3389 recoveries (including 10 cases recovered today) and 34 deaths.

Similarly, Jammu has 18087 positive cases (including 99 cases reported today) with 665 active positive cases, 17157 recoveries (including 108 cases recovered today), 265 deaths; Rajouri has 3232 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 74 active positive cases, 3110 recovered (including 03 cases recovered today), 48 deaths; Ramban has 1638 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 69 active positive, 1552 recoveries and 17 deaths; Kathua has 2489 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 49 Active positive, 2408 recovered (including 14 cases recovered today), 32 deaths; Udhampur has 2764 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 136 active positive cases, 2596 recovered (including 08 cases reported today) and 32 deaths; Samba has 2197 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 225 Active Positive, 1947 recoveries (including 13 cases reported today) and 25 deaths; Doda has 2690 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 84 active positive cases, 2558 recoveries (including 04 cases recovered today), 48 deaths; Poonch has 2275 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 108 active positive, 2145 recoveries (including 24 cases reported today), 22 deaths; Reasi has 1302 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 96 active positive, 1198 recoveries and 08 deaths while Kishtwar has 1986 positive cases (including 19 cases reported today) with 118 active positive cases and 1853 recoveries and 15 deaths.

According to the bulletin, of the total 97224 positive cases in J&K 9913 have been reported as travelers while 87311 as others.

The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.

The bulletin added that there are 1306 COVID dedicated beds, 1170 Isolation beds with 1087 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 96 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2345 COVID dedicated beds, 2197 Isolation beds where 1797 beds are vacant and 148 ICU beds where 127 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 3651 COVID dedicated beds, 3367 Isolation beds with 2884 beds  vacant and 284 ICU beds with 223 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
