JAMMU, DECEMBER09- The Government on Wednesday informed that369 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 190 from Jammu division and 179 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 114407. Also 06 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 03 from Jammu division and 03 from Kashmir Division.
Moreover,342 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 156 from Jammu Division and 186 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 114407 positive cases, 5016 are Active Positive, 107624 have recovered and 1767 have died; 631 in Jammu division and 1136 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 3243834 test results available, 3129427 samples have been tested as negative till December09, 2020.
Till date 815762 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 22212 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5016 in isolation and 27733 in home surveillance. Besides, 759034 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 23911 positive cases (including 86cases reported today) with 1162 Active Positive, 22321 recovered (including 81 cases recovered today), 428 deaths; Baramulla has 7645 positive cases (including 19 cases reported today) with 151 Active Positive, 7329 recovered (including 38 cases recovered today), 165deaths; Pulwama reported 5230 positive cases (including 13 case reported today) with 175 active positive cases, 4969 recovered (including 08 cases recovered today), 86 deaths; Kulgam has 2618 positive cases (including 04 case reported today) with 64 Active Positive, 2502 recoveries (including 01case recovered today), 52 deaths; Shopian has 2395 positive cases (including 04 case reported today) with 80 Active Positive, 2278 recovered and 37 deaths; Anantnag district has 4635positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 121 Active Positive, 4433 recovered (including 03cases recovered today), 81 deaths; Budgam has 7191 positive cases (including 19 cases reported today) with 303 Active Positive and 6784 recovered (including 19 cases recovered today), 104 deaths; Kupwara has 5302 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 189 Active Positive, 5026 recovered (including 17 cases recovered today), 87 deaths; Bandipora has 4502 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 114 Active Positive, 4332 recovered (including 09 cases recovered today), 56 deaths and Ganderbal has 4308 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 164 active positive cases, 4104recoveries (including 10 cases recovered today)and 40 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has21754 positive cases (including 89 cases reported today) with 814 active positive cases, 20622 recoveries (including 100 cases recovered today), 318 deaths; Rajouri has 3644 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 230 active positive cases, 3364 recovered (including 09 cases recovered today), 50 deaths; Ramban has 2011 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 92 active positive, 1898recoveries and 21 deaths; Kathua has 2948 positive cases (including 24 cases reported today) with 117 Active positive, 2787 recovered (including 11 cases recovered today), 44 deaths; Udhampur has 3884 positive cases (including 27 cases reported today) with 413 active positive cases, 3419 recovered (including 18 cases recovered today) and 52 deaths; Samba has 2593 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 263 Active Positive, 2296 recoveries and 34 deaths; Doda has 3254 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 170 active positive cases, 3026 recoveries (including 13 cases recovered today), 58 deaths; Poonch has 2414 positive cases (including 01cases reported today) with 36 active positive, 2356 recoveries (including 05 cases recovered today), 22 deaths; Reasi has 1547 positive cases with 125 active positive, 1411 recoveries and 11 deaths while Kishtwar has 2621 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 233 active positive cases and 2367recoveries and 21 deaths.
According to the bulletin, among the total 114407 positive cases in J&K, 10930 have been reported as travelers while 103477 as others.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 1321 COVID dedicated beds, 1185 Isolation beds with 1008 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 67 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2345 COVID dedicated beds, 2197 Isolation beds where 1851 beds are vacant and 148 ICU beds where 120 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are total of 3666 COVID dedicated beds, 3382 Isolation beds with 2859 beds vacant and 284 ICU beds with 187 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
