JAMMU, DECEMBER 23: The Government on Wednesday informed that250 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 135 from Jammu division and 115 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 119053. Also 03 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 01 from Jammu division and 02 from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 338 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 139 from Jammu Division and 199 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 119053 positive cases, 3555 are Active Positive, 113645 have recovered and 1853 have died; 682 in Jammu division and 1171 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 3609605 test results available, 3490552 samples have been tested as negative till December23, 2020.
Till date 855949 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 19919 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 3555 in isolation and 27573 in home surveillance. Besides, 803049 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 24865 positive cases (including 49cases reported today) with 654 Active Positive, 23768 recovered (including74 cases recovered today), 443 deaths; Baramulla has 7880 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 152 Active Positive, 7558 recovered (including 24 cases recovered today), 170deaths; Pulwama reported 5453 positive cases (including 13 case reported today) with 165 active positive cases, 5200 recovered (including 32 cases recovered today), 88 deaths; Kulgam has 2646positive cases (including 02 case reported today) with 67 Active Positive, 2526 recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today) and 53 deaths; Shopian has 2465 positive cases (including 03 case reported today) with 86 Active Positive, 2342 recovered (including 05 cases recovered today) and 37 deaths; Anantnag district has 4749positive cases (including 01case reported today) with 115 Active Positive, 4552 recovered (including 07cases recovered today), 82 deaths; Budgam has 7471 positive cases (including 17 cases reported today) with 185 Active Positive and 7180 recovered (including 17 cases recovered today), 106 deaths; Kupwara has 5464 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 144 Active Positive, 5230 recovered (including 09cases recovered today), 90 deaths; Bandipora has 4620 positive cases with 84 Active Positive, 4477 recovered (including 16 cases recovered today), 59 deaths and Ganderbal has 4437 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 104 active positive cases, 4290recoveries (including 13 cases recovered today) and 43 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 23149positive cases (including 98 cases reported today) with 860 active positive cases, 21942 recoveries (including 89 cases recovered today), 347 deaths; Rajouri has 3797 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 223 active positive cases, 3520 recovered (including 11 cases recovered today), 54 deaths; Ramban has 2077 positive cases with 30 active positive, 2026 recoveries (including 15 cases recovered today) and 21 deaths; Kathua has 3124 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 79 Active positive, 2997 recovered (including 08 cases recovered today), 48 deaths; Udhampur has 4045 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 120 active positive cases, 3868 recovered (including 16 cases recovered today) and 57 deaths; Samba has 2700 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 234 Active Positive, 2429 recoveriesand 37 deaths; Doda has 3353 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 87 active positive cases, 3205 recoveries) and 61 deaths; Poonch has 2436 positive cases with 29 active positive, 2385 recoveriesand 22 deaths; Reasi has 1611 positive cases with 61 active positive, 1536recoveries and 14 deaths while Kishtwar has 2711 positive cases with 76 active positive cases and 2614 recoveries and 21 deaths.
According to the bulletin, among the total 119053 positive cases, 11161 have been reported as travellers while 107892 as others.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 1321 COVID dedicated beds, 1185 Isolation beds with 1075 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 100 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2345 COVID dedicated beds, 2197 Isolation beds where 1922 beds are vacant and 148 ICU beds where 123 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are total of 3666 COVID dedicated beds, 3382 Isolation beds with 2997 beds vacant and 284 ICU beds with 223 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
