COVID-19: JK reports 182 new positive cases, 116792 recovered so far

JAMMU, JANUARY 03: The Government on Sunday informed that 182 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 103 from Jammu division and 79 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 121653. Also 01 COVID-19 death has been reported from Jammu Division.

Moreover, 205 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 95 from Jammu Division and 110 from Kashmir Division.

According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 121653 positive cases, 2975  are Active Positive, 116792 have recovered and 1886 have died; 699 in Jammu division and 1187 in Kashmir division.

The Bulletin further said that out of 3916848 test results available, 3795195 samples have been tested as negative till 3nd January, 2021.

Till date 895270 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 14471 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 2975 in isolation and 30564 in home surveillance. Besides, 845374 persons have completed their surveillance period.

Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 25453 positive cases (including 31 cases reported today) with 570 Active Positive, 24433 recovered (including 42 cases recovered today), 450 deaths; Baramulla has 7997 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 120Active Positive, 7705 recovered (including 06 cases recovered today), 172 deaths; Budgam reported 7637 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 127 active positive cases, 7401 recovered (including 20cases recovered today), 109 deaths; Kupwara has 5550 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 111 Active Positive, 5348 recoveries (including 16 cases recovered today), 91 deaths; Pulwama has 5599 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 154 Active Positive, 5357 recovered (including 15 cases recovered today)and 88 deaths; Anantnag district has 4821 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 122 Active Positive, 4616 recovered (including 04 cases recovered today), 83 deaths;  Bandipora has 4656 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 54 Active Positive and 4542 recoveries(including 02 cases recovered today), 60 deaths; Ganderbal has 4498 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 96 Active Positive, 4359 recoveries and 43deaths; Kulgam has 2666 positive cases with 59 Active Positive, 2554 recoveries (including 05 cases recovered today) and 53 deaths while as Shopian has 2388 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 106 active positive cases, 2378 recoveriesand 38 deaths.

Similarly, Jammu has 24021 positive cases (including 75 cases reported today) with 879 active positive cases, 22787 recoveries (including 45 cases recovered today), 355 deaths; Udhampur has 4095 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 51 active positive cases, 3987 recovered (including 09 cases recovered today)and 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3845 positive cases (including 01 cases reported today)with 138 active positive, 3653 recoveries (including 54 cases recovered today) and 54 deaths; Doda has 3398 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 45 Active positive, 3289 recovered (including 05 cases recovered today)and 64 deaths; Kathua has 3211 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 47 active positive cases, 3115 recovered (including 03 cases recovered today) and 49 deaths; Kishtwar has 2720 positive caseswith 11 Active Positive, 2688 recoveries and 21 deaths; Samba has 2772 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 199 active positive cases, 2534 recoveries and 39 deaths; Poonch has 2452 positive cases (including 01 cases reported today)with 31 active positive, 2397 recoveriesand 24 deaths; Ramban has 2112 positive cases (including 02cases reported today) with 24 active positive, 2067 recoveriesand 21 deaths while Reasi has 1628 positive cases with 31 active positive cases, 1582 recoveries  and 15 deaths.

According to the bulletin, among the total 121653 positive cases in J&K, 11325 have been reported as travellers while 110328 as others.

The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.

The bulletin added that there are 1321 COVID dedicated beds, 1185 Isolation beds with 1111 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 109 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2345 COVID dedicated beds, 2197 Isolation beds where 1957 beds are vacant and 148 ICU beds where 122 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 3666 COVID dedicated beds, 3382 Isolation beds with 3068 beds  vacant and 284 ICU beds with 231 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
