JAMMU, JANUARY 09: The Government on Saturday informed that 122 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 64 from Jammu division and 58 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 122425. Also 02 COVID-19 deaths have been reportedfrom Jammu Division.
Moreover, 267 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 116 from Jammu Division and 151 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 122425 positive cases, 2094 are Active Positive, 118422 have recovered and 1909 have died; 711 in Jammu division and 1198 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 4059790 test results available, 3937365 samples have been tested as negative till 9th January, 2021.
Till date 944038 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 25091 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 2094 in isolation and 32602 in home surveillance. Besides, 882342 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 25579 positive cases (including 25 cases reported today) with 318 Active Positive, 24810 recovered (including 98 cases recovered today), 451 deaths; Baramulla has 8027 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 94 Active Positive, 7761 recovered (including 12 cases recovered today), 172 deaths; Budgam reported 7658 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 73 active positive cases, 7474 recovered (including 11 cases recovered today), 111 deaths; Kupwara has 5593 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 96 Active Positive, 5404 recoveries (including 13 cases recovered today), 93 deaths; Pulwama has 5633 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 151 Active Positive, 5394 recovered (including 07 cases recovered today) and 88 deaths; Anantnag district has 4828 positive cases with 76 Active Positive, 4668 recovered (including 05 cases recovered today), 84deaths; Bandipora has 4668 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today)) with 48 Active Positive and 4559 recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today), 61 deaths; Ganderbal has 4531 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 95 Active Positive, 4390 recoveries (including 01 cases recovered today) and 46 deaths; Kulgam has 2669 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 52 Active Positive, 2564 recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today) and 53 deaths while as Shopian has 2528 positive cases with 101 active positive cases, 2388 recoveriesand 39 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 24297 positive cases (including 47 cases reported today) with 472 active positive cases, 23461 recoveries (including 56 cases recovered today), 364 deaths; Udhampur has 4161 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 99 active positive cases, 4005 recovered (including 04 cases recovered today)and 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3857 positive caseswith 78 active positive, 3724 recoveries (including 11 cases recovered today) and 55 deaths; Doda has 3419 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 39 Active positive, 3316 recovered (including 04 cases recovered today) and 64 deaths; Kathua has 3234 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 28 active positive cases, 3156 recovered (including 09 cases recovered today) and 50 deaths; Kishtwar has 2728 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today)with 18 Active Positive, 2688 recoveries and 22 deaths; Samba has 2799 positive cases with 176 active positive cases, 2584 recoveries (including 32 cases recovered today)and 39 deaths; Poonch has 2467 positive caseswith 38 active positive, 2405 recoveriesand 24 deaths; Ramban has 2118 positive caseswith 27 active positive, 2070 recoveriesand 21 deaths while Reasi has 1631 positive cases (including 01 cases reportesd today) with 15 active positive cases, 1601 recoveriesand 15 deaths.
According to the bulletin, among the total 122425 positive cases in J&K, 11381 have been reported as travelers while 111044 as others.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 1321 COVID dedicated beds, 1185 Isolation beds with 1148 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 105 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2345 COVID dedicated beds, 2197 Isolation beds where 1952 beds are vacant and 148 ICU beds where 127 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 3666 COVID dedicated beds, 3382 Isolation beds with 3100 beds vacant and 284 ICU beds with 232 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
