Srinagar, February 21: The Cooperative Training Institute, Srinagar organized a focused programme on “Strengthening Cooperatives through Good Governance”, followed by the felicitation and certificate distribution ceremony of the Diploma in Cooperative Management (DICM) for the trainees.The concluding Ceremony was presided over by Ms Babila Rukwal Commissioner/ Secretary to Government Co-operatives department as Chief Guest of the occasion .
The programme highlighted the critical role of good governance in strengthening cooperative institutions. Deliberations focused on transparency, accountability, professional management, statutory compliance, and active member participation as the foundation for strong and sustainable cooperatives. Speakers emphasized that good governance is essential for improving performance and public trust in cooperative institutions.
The felicitation and distribution of Diploma certificates to successful DICM trainees was carried out by Babila Rakwal, Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Cooperative Department J&K in presence of Ulfat Jabeen, Special Secretary to Government, Cooperative Department, and Dr. Khalid Hussain Malik, Jt Registrar additionally looking after as Principal, Cooperative Training Institute, Srinagar. The dignitaries congratulated the trainees for successfully completing the diploma and encouraged them to apply their knowledge in strengthening cooperative societies through ethical and efficient practices.
As per details available, Dy Registrars , Assistant registrars ,District audit officers also attended the session besides auditors , sub-auditors and jr supervisors were sensitized regarding the good governance for strengthening the co-operatives.
The Programme concluded with appreciation for the efforts of the faculty and trainees, and a reaffirmation of the Institute’s commitment to capacity building, modernization of cooperative education, and promotion of good governance within the cooperative sector.
At the closure of the event, Dr khalid Principal CTI Srinagar highlighted the achievements made with guidance and support of the outgoing Commissioner/ Secretary which will pave way in future for strengthening coperatives in jammu and kashmir.
