Constable Sajad succumbs to his injuries

Srinagar: Constable Sajad Ahmad Parray No. 896 of IRP 19th Bn, who was fired upon yesterday by militants near Tailbal Bus Stand from a close range which left him critically injured, succumbed to his injuries at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences-Soura this morning.
To bid adieu to the departed soul, an impressive Guard of honour was presented to the Constable in the lawns of Police Control Room, Srinagar, this morning followed by wreath laying ceremony. Mr Kuldeep Khoda, Director General of Police, J&K, Mr S. M. Sahai, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Dr. B. Srinivas, Inspector General of Police, CID, J&K, Mr Rouf ul Hassan, Inspector General of Police, Armed/IRP Kashmir, Mr Abdul Gani Mir, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Central Kashmir Range-Srinagar, Mr Abdul Qayoom Manhas, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Trainings)APHQ, Shiekh Mehmood, Sr. Superintendent of Police, PCR Srinagar, Mr Ashiq Bukhari Sr. Superintendent of Police, District-Srinagar, ,SSP CID SB Kashmir, SP CID CI Kashmir, all Srinagar based Commandants of Armed / IRP Bn’s and all Zonal Superintendents of Police and many Non-Gazetted Officers and others participated in the ceremony.
A resident of village Garend-Khord, Budgam, the dead constable Sajad was appointed in the Police Department in the year 2010 and is survived by old aged parents, one brother and three sisters. He was laid to rest at his native place today.
