Congress releases first list of candidates for Assembly polls

Srinagar, Oct 29 : With Assembly elections less than a month away, Congress on Wednesday released first list of its candidates for the polls.

According to a AICC press release issued in New Delhi 15 candidates have been nominated for contesting upcoming polls. They include Faqir Mohammad Khan from Gurez, Usman Majeed from Bandipora, Imtiyaz Parray from Sonawari, Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh from Kangan, Mohammad Yosuf Bhat from Ganderbal, Dildan Namgyal from Nobra, Rigzin Jora from Leh,
Ashhar Karbali from Kargil, Ghulam Raza from Zanskar, Nek Ram from Kishtwar, G M Saroori from Inderwal, Abdul Majeed Wani from Doda, Mohammad Sharief Niaz from Bhaderwah, Ashok Kumar Dogra from Ramban and Viqar Rasool from Banihal.
Sources told  the second list will be issued in a few days time. “The firstlist was issued after state Congress President Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz held threadbare discussions with the party high command in Delhi, they added.
