Srinagar, March 01: In a statement issued to the Kashmir Media Watch Farhan Kitab, Chairman Joint Traders Association has affirmed following points :
“
As the chairman of the chairman of Joint Traders Association (JTA) an amalgam of 14 markets of city centre, I am compelled to address a pressing issue affecting the vibrancy and footfall of our local markets. One of the recent challenges we’ve encountered is the restrictive operating hours of the multi-level parking entry from the Press Enclave side.
This facility, crucial for accommodating the vehicles of our patrons, currently opens late and closes early, significantly impacting the accessibility and convenience for shoppers. As a result, nearby markets have experienced a decline in foot traffic, directly affecting the livelihoods of our merchants and vendors.
In light of this concern, I urge the Commissioner Municipality who is also CEO smart City to prioritize the investigation and resolution of this matter. Extending the operating hours of the parking entry will not only alleviate the strain on local businesses but also enhance the overall experience for visitors to our markets.
We are committed to working collaboratively with the relevant authorities to find a swift and effective solution to this issue. Together, we can ensure the continued prosperity and vitality of our beloved markets.”
