College Teacher Association Ladakh delegation meets Vice Chancellor UoL in Kargil

Kargil, March 04: A delegation of the College Teacher Association Ladakh, led by its President, Nasiruddin Khafi, on Sunday (March 02) met with Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof. (Dr.) Saket Kushwaha, at his residence in Purig Guest House, Kurbathang, Kargil, to discuss issues concerning college teachers.

CTA members Nasir Shabani, Tsewang Gyaltsan and Aga Syed Mussavi (Assistant Professor’s, GDC-Kargil) were part of the delegation.

The meeting provided an opportunity for a constructive dialogue on key academic and administrative issues concerning college teachers across the region.

At the outset, Nasiruddin Khafi extended a warm welcome to Prof. Kushwaha and congratulated him on his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh.

He expressed confidence that under Prof. Kushwaha’s visionary leadership and extensive experience, the University and its constituent colleges would achieve new milestones of academic excellence.

During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on crucial matters, including administrative authority of the college teachers, service records and regulations, placement and promotion of college teachers, transfer policy and in service PhD permissions.

The delegation also raised the issue of the deputation of college teachers to the University and submitted a memorandum outlining their concerns.

Prof. Kushwaha acknowledged the genuine grievances and assured the delegation that he would address the issues under his jurisdiction at the earliest. Furthermore, he assured that matters related to higher education requiring intervention at the government level would be taken up with the Secretary, Higher Education and other relevant authorities.

In his concluding remarks, Prof. Kushwaha urged the members of the College Teacher Association to continue rendering their services with dedication and sincerity. He reiterated his commitment to fostering a conducive academic environment and ensuring the professional growth of college educators in Ladakh.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both sides expressing their commitment to resolve to work collaboratively for the betterment of higher education in the region.
