Srinagar, April 7 (KMW): Intense clashes between protesters and government forces followed the funeral prayers of slain Hizbul Mujahideen militant, Mussavir Ahmad Wani in south Kashmir’s Pulwama on Saturday.
Protesters pelted forces with rocks who retaliated with tear smoke canisters, witnesses said.
Authorities had imposed strict restrictions in the town to foil protests however hundreds of people defied restrictions and hit the streets to protest the against the killing of Mussavir, a resident of Delipora at Kangan area of the town yesterday during a brief shootout.
Earlier, thousands participated in the funeral prayers of Mussavir.
