Jammu: The winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir was in the grip of chillly weather following fresh snowfall accompanied by showers in the hilly Kishtwar district of the state, official sources here said.
The Mercury plunged in the winter capital after overnight rains in the region.
Jammu recorded a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 10 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, fresh snowfall was recorded in Kishtwar district, official sources here said.
‘About 6 inches of snow has been recorded in Kishtwar and Paddar Valley of the hilly terrain in Jammu region while rains lashed Vaishno Devi thus bringing down the temperature,’ he added.
Weather remained partially cloudy and snowfall was recorded at certain places, he said adding, ‘traffic also remained smooth on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway
