Chief Secretary reviews preparedness for Khelo India Winter Games in Leh

Leh, 19 January 2026: The Chief Secretary, UT Ladakh, Shri Ashish Kundra today visited the NDS Ice Hockey Rink and the Indoor Stadium to review the preparedness for the opening of the Khelo India Winter Games, which are scheduled to commence tomorrow, 20 January.

During the inspection, Shri Kundra reviewed the arrangements related to seating, safety measures and various other logistical preparations being made for the smooth conduct of the games. He emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination to ensure a successful and hassle-free event.

The Chief Secretary was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Romil Singh Donk; Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Moses Kunzang; along with officers and officials from the concerned departments and representatives of the Ice Hockey Association. Officials briefed him on the status of preparations and the measures being taken to accommodate athletes, officials, and spectators.

Shri Kundra urged all departments to remain vigilant and committed to delivering a world-class sporting event, highlighting the significance of the Khelo India Winter Games in promoting sports culture and winter sports in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
