Jammu: Union Home Minister P Chidambram is likely to visit Jammu and Kashmir on April 10 to review the security situation in the state, sources here today said.
“Mr Chidambram is likely to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir during his day-long visit to this winter capital on April 10,” the sources told.
They said the Home Minister would hold discussions with the top brass of Army besides Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
“Demand of withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from some parts of the state would remain on agenda in a high-level meeting,” they added.
Mr Chidambram had earlier visited Jammu and Kashmir in June last year and had asked the state government to ensure peace and normalcy before seeking revocation of AFSPA. Â (KMW NEWS)
