Noida, 12 July: In a beautiful celebration of Kashmiri culture, At Live Café Noida hosted an enchanting evening filled with soulful Kashmiri folk melodies presented by Ruh Musical Group. Titled “Chaand Saaz”, the event offered a refreshing perspective on Kashmir—one that transcends stereotypes and showcases its rich art, music, and cultural heritage. The atmosphere at the café came alive with the sound of traditional Kashmiri songs, captivating everyone present.
Chaand Saaz is a recurring monthly event that takes place on every full moon night, designed to promote the diverse cultural traditions of India. The initiative aims to reconnect urban audiences, especially in metro cities like Noida, with the roots of Indian folk art, music, and regional heritage.
Smriti Agrawal, the founder of At Live Noida, conceived Chaand Saaz as a platform to celebrate India’s cultural richness and to revive and promote traditional folk music from across the country.
This month’s event featured a talented ensemble from Srinagar—Ruh Music and Rouhan Malik, who crafted a truly memorable experience. Chaand Saaz isn’t just a musical night—it’s a cultural immersion where storytelling, melodies, and the breathtaking spirit of Kashmir come together in harmony.
The audience was treated to the magical sounds of traditional Kashmiri instruments like the Rabab, Santoor, and Tumbaknari—each resonating with the soulful depth of the valley and touching hearts beyond linguistic boundaries.
The evening’s highlight was Rouhan Malik, a renowned Kashmiri singer, producer, and composer, whose work blends folk, rock, and pop to narrate the untold stories of Kashmir. Born in Sopore, Rouhan’s music is deeply rooted in the Kashmiri ethos, yet universally appealing.
Joining him was Mohammad Yawar, a dedicated Rabab player who has kept this ancient instrument alive for over a decade, preserving it as a symbol of Kashmiri identity. His performances pay homage to the roots of the valley while captivating new audiences.
Also part of the group was Adnan, whose voice breathes new life into ancient Sufi poetry, evoking deep emotions of love, devotion, and longing. Accompanying them was Imran, whose rich bass lines and rhythmic depth add global textures to the traditional Kashmiri soundscape.
The event offered a unique opportunity to experience the soul of Kashmir—its music shaped by snowy mountains, whispered prayers, and centuries-old verses.
At Live Café is widely known for its warm ambiance, delicious food, and deep passion for the arts. It’s a place where people come not just to eat, but to feel. With live music and exceptional cuisine coming together, every evening here becomes a story.
