CEO Ladakh chairs meeting with representatives of Political Parties

Leh, March 10: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Ladakh, Yetindra M. Maralkar chaired a meeting at his office chamber with representatives of political parties.

During the meeting, the CEO enquired about any issues and difficulties faced by the political parties with regard to the electoral rolls, engagement with BLOs, AEROs etc.

The CEO emphasized the importance of BLAs in securing a clean and healthy electorate. The latest ECI instructions regarding BLAs were also shared with the Political Parties, the Political Parties were requested to disseminate the instructions with BLAs and hold frequent meetings with BLAs as BLAs play a crucial role in the electoral process, including reporting deceased voters, identifying voters who have shifted residences, to detected duplicate entries, and assisting BLOs in the Special Summary Revision.

The CEO directed the Electoral Registration Officer and District Election Officers of Leh and Kargil to hold meetings with political parties for any issues faced at the district level. He instructed that meeting notices, attendance records, and minutes should be properly documented and submitted to the CEO Ladakh office.

The meeting was attended by District Election Officer, Kargil, Shrikant Suse; Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Ladakh, Sonam Chosjor; Electoral Registration Officer, Ghulam Mohd; Deputy District Election Officer, Leh, Padma Angmo; Deputy District Election Officer, Kargil, Kaneez Fatima; and representatives of political parties. Officers stationed in Kargil joined the meeting virtually.
