In his address, Dr. Akhoon congratulated the keynote speakers for imparting vital awareness and outlining mitigation strategies to address haemophilia and other bleeding disorders. He expressed his gratitude to Dr. Kaul, Prof. Gupta, and their team for organizing such a significant health awareness initiative in the district.

Reiterating his commitment, Dr. Akhoon emphasized LAHDC Kargil’s dedication to strengthening health infrastructure and ensuring quality medical services reach the people at their doorsteps. He shared that in recent years, gynaecologists, surgeons, and physicians have been posted under NHM into District Hospital Kargil, providing much-needed relief to the local population.

The CEC further announced that consultant specialists such as urologists, cardiologists, neurologists, and radiologists will be made available in the district hospital by the end of this year. These efforts, he noted, are particularly aimed at easing the burden on economically weaker sections of society by reducing the need for travel to distant cities for specialized care.

Dr. Akhoon also highlighted that District Hospital Kargil is equipped with modern medical infrastructure, staffed by highly qualified doctors and dedicated paramedical teams. He expressed optimism that an MRI machine will be installed in the hospital very soon, with all necessary steps already underway.

Speaking with empathy, Dr. Akhoon shared that being a doctor himself, he feels deeply relieved and motivated to contribute to the healthcare sector in any way possible. He also mentioned engaging with various stakeholders to explore avenues for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding, aimed at bringing further health benefits to the people of Kargil.
