CEC Kargil flags off students for Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2024-25 State-Level Camp

Kargil, Dec 14: Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today flagged off a group of forty students from Kargil selected for the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) 2024-25 State-Level Camp at Leh.

The event took place at Council Secretariat Kargil in presence of Executive Councillor for Education, Zakir Hussain, Joint Director, Information, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho and other officials.

The selected students, representing 18 government and private schools from Kargil, will participate in the camp for scientific temper and innovation among young minds. Around 500 students from 28 schools registering for the competition. Of these, 333 students appeared for the final online examination and 45 students were selected to represent Kargil at the state level.

While addressing the gathering, CEC Dr. Akhoon congratulated the selected students for their achievement and lauded their dedication and hard work. He also extended his best wishes for their participation in the state-level camp and future endeavors. 

“You are the pride of Kargil and the torchbearers of science and innovation in the region. I am confident that you will excel in your pursuits and make the district proud,” he said.

Executive Councillor, Zakir Hussain and Joint Director, Information, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho also commended the students and encouraged them to make the most of this opportunity by learning and interacting with peers and experts during the camp.

Pertinently, the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan is a flagship program to identify scientific talent among school students across India.
