Kargil, Sept 17: Chairman, CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today chaired a meeting with Director of School Education, Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), and Headmasters to review the zone-wise and school-wise status of expenditures under SAMAGRA Shiksha scheme.

The meeting was attended by Executive Councillor for Irrigation and Flood Control, Kacho Mohd Feroz; Executive Councillor for Social Welfare, Aga Syed Mujtaba; Director of School Education; Executive Engineer (EXN), R&B; Chief Education Officer, Kargil; ZEOs, Principals, and Headmasters of all high schools in Kargil.

Dr. Jaffer Akhoon reviewed the financial achievements of the ongoing projects under SAMAGRA Shiksha, with a focus on the approved works for 2024-25 at the ZEO level, as well as spillover works at the zonal level and in high secondary schools (HSS) and high schools in Kargil.

The CEC discussed variations in unit costs, urging for timely completion of the projects and ensuring that expenditures are booked as per the approved outlay.

Additionally, the CEC sought feedback on several important issues, including the status of remedial classes, concerns regarding school cooks, and other operational challenges faced by educational institutions.

In his remarks, the CEC highlighted that education and healthcare are noble professions and urged all stakeholders to work sincerely for the welfare of the students in Kargil. He reassured that the Hill Council is committed to taking all necessary steps to improve education and infrastructure for the people of Kargil.
