Kargil, June 28: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kargil successfully organized the 52nd RBVP District-Level Science Exhibition (Secondary Level), highlighting the innovative talents of young scientists from across the district.

The exhibition was attended by the Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, as Chief Guest along with S.D. Namgyal, Principal of DIET Kargil. The event featured 46 exceptional science models based on various thematic areas and witnessed the participation of Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), DIET faculty members, esteemed judges, and teachers from different schools in the Kargil district.

The CEC extended heartfelt congratulations to all participants and expressed gratitude to the DIET faculty for their dedication. He also appreciated the efforts of the organizers, teachers, and students in conducting and participating the science exhibition, and lauded the high standards maintained by the students in presenting their science models.

Highlighting the commitment of LAHDC Kargil toward the advancement of education, Dr. Akhoon reaffirmed that the Council is fully committed to extending all necessary support for the educational upliftment of the district.

He expressed particular satisfaction with the enthusiastic participation of girls, noting their increasing presence and achievements in every field, especially education. He praised their dedication and energy, calling it a positive sign for the district’s future.

Dr. Akhoon also emphasized the importance of experiential learning, stating that the “learning by doing” approach is among the best forms of education. He remarked that the models presented at the exhibition were excellent examples of this method.

Addressing concerns raised by DIET faculty members regarding infrastructure and land issues, the CEC noted that a transport bus had already been provided last year. He assured that efforts for acquiring land are in the final stages and reiterated his commitment to establishing a Centre of Excellence at DIET Kargil to ensure improved quality standards and facilities.

During the concluding session, CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon distributed certificates and cash prizes to the winners. In his address, he commended the enthusiasm, creativity, and scientific temperament displayed by the young participants, encouraging them to continue their pursuit of scientific excellence.

The 52nd District-Level Science Exhibition provided a valuable platform for nurturing scientific creativity, environmental awareness, and curiosity among students. The event not only showcased exceptional talent but also reinforced the vital role of science, technology, and mathematics in building a brighter, more informed future.
