Srinagar: Three Army man, including an officer were killed in a landslide triggered by heavy rains in Uri sector along the line of control (LoC) of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Official sources told Friday that a party of Army’s 10 SIKHLI was manning the LoC near Goda Post in Bijhama area of Uri sector during the intervening night of October 21/22 when a landslide struck the area burying three Army men, including a captain. However, other Army personnel had a narrow escape.
After hours of hectic struggle, sources said the bodies of the slain Army men were retrieved. The deceased have been identified as Captain Gaurav Jain, Lance Naik Karnail Singh and Sepoy Karan Singh.
