Srinagar, December 22 (KMW): People’s Political Party (PPP) organized a candlelight vigil in remembrance of slain children of Army Public School Peshawar massacre at Ghanta Ghar (Clock tower) , Lal Chowk ( Red Square ) , Srinagar , Kashmir at 5:45 p.m. today Monday on December 22, 2014 under the leadership of PPP Chief, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War.Many members of civil society participated in the aforesaid candlelight vigil to express solidarity with the families of victims of horrific attack on a school in Peshawar, which led to the death toll of 141 people including 132 school children. Voices of conscience including prominent Journalists, Lawyers, civil society members participated in the said candlelight vigil. The vigil was attended by a large number of people including the political and social elite of the city.While talking to media persons , PPP Chief , said “ the massacre has Sparked outrage across the world ,as well as in the entire Jammu and Kashmir . The participants of the vigil were holding placards and banners with slogans against TTP and in favour of the victims. Several party leaders of PPP including Prominent youth leader of PPP Sajad Noorabadi and M Shafi also participated in the candlelight vigil .Renowned media personalities and Civil Society members, Lawyers fraternity members, Advocate Mohammad Shafi Mir, Advocate Ajaz Ahmad and Young Journalist Association members also attended the event and condemned the tragic incident in strongest words. An enthusiastic crowd lashed out at Taliban. Mr. War termed the killing of innocent children in Peshawar by TTP a worst form of human rights violation. There can be no justification for these barbaric killings. The attackers are biggest enemies of Islam and Humanity and must be sternly punished,†War said. On behalf of people of Jammu and Kashmir, I share the grief of the bereaved families and pray for courage to them to bear the irreparable loss,†he added. The killers of innocent school-going children can never be well-wishers of Islam and Pakistan,†he said. No religion allows any such cowardly attacks on innocent people, particularly on women and children. Our heart goes out to all the families who have lost their loved ones. While condemning the barbaric act War stated “I express my deep anguish and sadness over the massacre of school children in Peshawar Pakistan. The attack is inhuman, barbaric and un-Islamic. The attack was orchestrated on the behest of International Intelligence Agencies to destabilize Pakistan,†maintained Hilal War.
