Police sources told, during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday people in Beerwah saw the electrical store of Mohammad Younis Bandey in flames. People rushed to the spot and informed Fire and Emergency officials. After hours of efforts, people and Fire Service men managed to douse the fire. However, electrical goods worth Lakhs of rupees were gutted in the incident.
Police said that as soon as the shutter of the shop was broken, people were surprised to see a charred dead body inside the shop. A police official said that the body might be of the burglar, which has been charred completely. “It is a two storey building. There is another shop of a chemist on the second storey and the preliminary investigations reveal that the said burglar has entered into the electrical store from the roof of the chemist shop, which belongs to one Zahoor Ahmed,” he said and added that the electrical short circuit might have caused the fire.
Station House Officer, Beerwah told that he called all the village heads of the area and ultimately the dead body was identified of a youth, Adil Nazir Zargar son of Nazir Ahmed Zargar from Ommuran Pattan. Police has registered a case in this regard.
