Jammu: A state that has 17,00 Cores internal liability & 18,000 Crores external liability cannot afford any luxuries, either for the ruling class, MLA’S, MLC’S ,Or the bauracarcy . We have no money to pay for the salaries & Pensions , then what makes you spend on non performing Assets , asked Mr. Muzzafar Shah . It is time that extravagant Luxuries in the name of security related expenditure are brought t a complete halt. This was stated by Senior Vice President J&K Awami National Conference in a Press Release today in Jammu.
What is worry some is the fact that the coalition govt. & Its Finance Minister have spared no thought for the presenting a the workable Roadmap for the settlement of 6Lac educated unemployment youth, the budget has earmarked no funds for creation of IT infrastructure, creation of new areas for tourism in developments, creation of multi specialty hospitals &allied Medical service, nor has given its Roadmap for basic infrastructure development , said ANC Senior .Vive President.
Mr. Muzzafar Shah took strong exception to the fact that no Roadmap for tapping our water resources has been put forth. This is one sector which should be the top priority for time beyond development of any Govt. in the state, but unfortunately the finance Minister & the coalition is silent on this. What J&K deserves, is a set of Professionals’ to put it back on economic recovery. I don’t think our politicians have the expertise, the will or the understanding of our problems. “God Save us’’ he said .
Mr. Muzzafar Shah Said that there is no roadmap on eradication of growing unemployment’s and the Govt. has made no mention of food security for the people .The jawans of Homegurd, Agric-Technocrats, PHE, PDD, PS Units and unemployed youth are on strike nothing has been done in this budget it is mere tokenism. The budget had disappointed all sections of society as it had not provided any relief to them .The budget has also failed to redress the grievances of daily wagers as there is no mention of their regularization , further adding that the daily wagers were sitting on dharma but they were totally ignored. Besides no concern has been shown so far regularization of SPO’S AND VDC in the budget.
While describing the budget as a cosmetic exercise, he said, the budget has failed to fulfill the aspiration of the society. The Govt. has tried to play with the sentiments of the people’s. There is no roadmap for revival of ailing economy and the GDP growth in the state is not increasing in the way it is needed. No thrust has been shown towards the industrial sector and basic issues have not been addressed .The Economic survey and the budget indicates the ignorance on part of the Govt. and the serious problem which is looming large because of the crumbling of agriculture Sector that is still the main stay of the state economy .The farmers are loosing interest in agriculture, because of many accounts including the fragmentation of the land holding and increasing cost of production coupled with the poor return .The Coalition Govt. has shown no vision to take care of this deteriorating situation, Mr. Muzzafar Shah Said .
The ANC Senior Vice president said that , if we look at economic survey and the budget presented , the figures are totally contradictory as social sector and infrastructure are in poor condition .Mr. shah expressed strong resentment over the fresh increase in power tariff. “The Govt. should understand the feelings of the common man especially the business community rather then blaming them for power theft”.
