Srinagar:  Three week after he allegedly killed his wife, police on Wednesday arrested a resident of Budgam in central Kashmir from New Delhi. Official sources told that Mushtaq Ahmad Pandith alias Bilal Pandith son of Abdul Ahad of Tanghar Kralpora was arrested by a special team of police at New Delhi Railway Station.After allegedly killing his wife Sumaira Jan daughter of Farooq Ahmad Khan of Khanqah- Sukhta here on May 01, Pandith was absconding. According to police, Bilal had stabbed several times his wife with a sharp-edged weapon at their residence in Tanghar-Kralpora in Budgam and fled away.After registering a case, police subsequently launched a massive hunt for his arrest. After reports that the accused was hiding in New Delhi, a team of officers headed by Station House Officer, Inspector Manzoor Ahmad was deputed and met with the success when they arrested the accused from railway station in Indian capital. “The accused has been remanded for a period of 14 days to police custody. The accused has confessed to his crime,†a police officer said. The family of the victim had staged protest demonstration on several occasions in demand for the arrest of Pandith.
