London, June 26 UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that he is “thinking actively” about serving a third term into the 2030s amid the threat of being ousted by the Conservative MPs.
Speaking on the final day of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kigali, Rwanda, Johnson said the government was “embarked on a colossal project to unite and level up”.
Replying to a question on if he would lead the Conservatives into the next election, he said, “Will I win? Yes. I am thinking actively about the third term and what could happen then. But I will review that when I get to it.
“We’ve embarked on a massive project to change the government, of the constitution of the country, the way we run our legal system, the way we manage our borders, our economy. All sorts of things we are doing differently.
“We also, at the same time, are embarked on a colossal project to unite and level up.”
The Prime Minister hopes his trip to Rwanda will cast the east African nation in a positive light after his government’s controversial plan to relocate asylum seekers there from the UK met with significant opposition, Sky News reported.
On Sunday, Johnson would be participating at the G7 Summit and NATO meeting in Spain from Tuesday.
