Bhalla lays foundation of box type culvert at Gangyal

JAMMU: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla today laid foundation stone of 15.3 meter long motorable box type culvert over Gangyal nallah, coming up within next four months at an estimated cost of Rs. 2 crore under State plan.
Ex-Corporators Mr. Shub Chander Verma, Mr. Satesh Sharma, Mr. Bhushan Sharma, President GTBNWS Mr. H S Deol, prominent citizens besides locals were present on the occasion.
Addressing a large gathering at Gangyal, Mr. Bhalla said people of this area face lot of hardships during monsoon due to choking of nallah, resulting floods. He said in this regard, Government has earmarked Rs. 2 crore for construction of box type bridge over the nallah adding that with the completion of the project, the people will not have to face any problem during in rainy season next year.
The Minister said Government has sanctioned Rs. 1.6 crore for development of recreation at park besides landscaping facilities at Gangyal adding that work on the project would be started after construction of culvert over nallah.
Mr. Bhalla said for improving the power infrastructure in Gangyal, Babliana and its adjoining areas, Government has approved a project for upgradation of 6.3 MVA station to 10 MVA adding that the work would be completed within next 15 days.
Describing peace as vital in ensuring sustained development, the Minister sought prosperity of the state. He called upon the people not to pay heed to the vested interests who use innocent for their petty interests and always disrupt peace, brotherhood, communal harmony and amity of the State.
The Minister said fulfilling of people’s aspirations and developmental needs is top agenda of the Government and assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner.
At Nanak Nagar, Sector-3, the construction work of deep drain was started in the presence of the Minister, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 4 lakh. He asked the executing agency to complete the project within stipulated time frame .
At Channi Rama near Malik Market, Mr. Bhalla inaugurated United Public School Primary School Building.
Ex-MLA Mohammad Sayeed Akhoon, Principal Ram Paul Sharma besides teaching, non-teaching staff members, parents and locals were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhalla called upon the teachers to impart quality education to the students so that they could become a good citizen of the country. He highlighted the role of teachers and parents in the life of children, adding that a child is nourished by parents, while the teacher gives his life a direction.
