Bhalla inaugurates 20 MVA receiving station at Channi Himmat

JAMMU: To provide relief from unscheduled power cuts during summer season, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla today dedicated 20 MVA receiving station at Channi which Himmat.
The station was augmented at an estimated cost of Rs. 59.44 lakh by Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA).
Officers of ERA and PDD were present on the occasion.
Interacting with the locals, Mr.Bhalla said Government is committed to provide regular power supply in metered areas of the State. He said with the augmentation of receiving station, the uninterrupted power supply would be facilitated to the areas of Channi Himmat, Channi Rama and its adjoining localities.
The Minister called upon the people in general to use the power judiciously, avoid illegal hooking, pay electric bills in time and regularize the load as per their consumption. He asked the people to come forward in nominating the violators thereby helping the PDD in eradicating the menace of power theft.
Mr. Bhalla said Government has also augmented 6.3 MVA receiving station of Transport Nagar upto 10 MVA so that people do not face any inconvenience during summer season. He asked the locals to use electricity judiciously in peak hours and do not get illegal power connections to save power for themselves.
Regarding upgradation of Babliana receiving Station, the Minister asked the PDD to prepare estimated for upgradation of 6.3 MVA receiving station and submit the same for funding so that the existing station could be upgraded up to 10 MVA. He said on the upgradation of this station, the habitations of Digiana, Jeevan Nagar, Ajeet Nagar, Gangyal could get adequate electricity.
To mitigate the power problems in Shastri Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Rampura and parts of Nai Basti, the Minister said work on 10 MVA 33/11 KV Receiving Station at Shastri Nagar is under progress on war footing adding that the project costing Rs. 4.80 crore would be completed by March next year, adding development of receiving station was the long pending demand of the people of this area.
Mr. Bhalla said that Government has taken several historical steps to rejuvenate overall developmental profile of the State. He said sectors like PHE, health, R&B, education, tourism, power among other sectors have received focused attention of the Government adding it was due to its pro-people policy that the masses at present are benefited.
