Denying allegations regarding unprovoked firing, by CRPF, Yadav said, “Police has yesterday registered an FIR into the killing of Altaf Wani, against the CRPF and if anyone of our Personnel is found guilty, he would be dealt with sternly”, the IG said.
“Our men exercise maximum restraint on their part. If they had opened unprovoked fire, it would have resulted in killing of dozens of civilians, and secondly 350 of our men would not have got injured”, he added
“Some miscreants do not like peace and resort to stone pelting. As such we are dealing only with law and order problems, so our men carry their weapons accordingly otherwise our deployment possess sufficient firearms”.
