BB murder case: Mark Siegel becomes prosecution witness

ISLAMABAD: American journalist Mark Siegel has become prosecution’s witness in the former prime minister and PPP leader Benazir Bhutto’s (BB) murder case, Geo News reported Saturday. Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court (ATC) is hearing Bhutto’s murder case today.
Prosecutor of FIA Chaudhry Zulfiqar, who is a member of the joint investigation team in the case, recorded Siegel’s statement in the US that will be presented in the court today.
Siegel in his statement told the investigating team that BB was distressed after receiving a phone call from former president Pervez Musharraf while he was present with her.
According to Siegel, Musharraf warned Bhutto that she would be responsible for her own security if she returned before elections.
Chaudhry Zulfiqar told that Siegel would be presented in the ATC when time will come.
Seven accused in the BB’s murder case are expected to be indicted during today’s proceedings.
