Srinagar 29 March: Basharat Bukhari, Pir Mansoor and Khurshed Alam joined Sajjad Gani Lone’s party Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (JKPC) on Monday.

During a press conference Sajad Lone said that he and his party members welcome the joining of J&K’s three senior leaders — Basharat Bukhari, Pir Mansoor and Khursheed Alam into his party. “They are joining a political movement and hopefully in coming decades will play a pivotal role in contributing to the state of J&K and to the politics of J&K,” said Sajjad Lone during the press conference.

Sajjad said that he wholeheartedly welcomed the joining of all three leaders into his party and also praised their work, which they have done in the past in different positions.

However, Basharat Bukhari said that he was very happy in NC and had a great experience being part of the party. He also inferred that he left his former party because he thought he was not being used as he should have been.

While Pir Mansoor said that he met Sajjad in the jail and had time to understand him there and termed him a very practical man. He also said that he probably is the first one to join from south Kashmir to JKPC.

On the occasion, Lone also replied to the question of restoring article 370 by saying that the Article can be restored in two institutions — either in court or in the parliament and there is no other way or magic stick to retrieve it back.

However, Lone also condemned the militant attack on councilors which took place in Sopore on Monday leaving councilor and a cop dead.
