GANDERBAL, APRIL 5: According to the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, heavy rains and thunderstorm accompanied with squally winds are likely to occur and continue at few places in the Ganderbal district until April 6, 2017.
People living in the areas of Sub-Division Kangan and Tehsil Lar, particularly those residing in and around Gund, Sonamarg, Watlar, Waliwar, Chanthan, Gulabpora and Chountiwaliwar areas, are advised not to venture into slopes of avalanche-prone forest and hilly areas, an advisory issued by DC Ganderbal said.
The locals have been asked to temporarily vacate those locations which are under fall line of avalanches.
The concerned Tehsildars, SHOs, Health Department, Mechanical Engineering Department, Beacon, R&B and PMGSY have been asked to remain alert and in the state of preparedness to meet any eventuality.
