Srinagar: Describing Autonomy as the “only” viable solution to the Kashmir dispute, senior National Conference leader and Member of Parliament, Dr Mehboob Beg, Thursday said the implementation of the recommendations submitted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s working group was imperative for restoring trust among the people of Kashmir.“Restoration of internal autonomy to the state is held as a viable solution to the Kashmir issue at the international level. We believe that there is no other solution to the Kashmir problem other than autonomy,” Beg said while addressing party activists at Khanbal in Anantnag District. He said the Assembly has already passed a resolution in favour of autonomy and NC would continue its struggle for its restoration. He further said that resolution to the issue according to the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir would help bring peace and stability to the Indo-Pak sub- continent.Meanwhile Beg appealed people to exercise their franchise at large in the ongoing Panchayat polls, saying the Panchayati Raj would unleash an era of progress and development.
