Srinagar , March 01:Srinagar Municipal Corporation which is the prominent department of our part of the world with reference to Cleanliness and sanitation but also overall maintenance of historic city of Srinagar ,which is heart of the Kashmir.
People from time and again have had their own grievance with reference to the working of SMC, from keeping the city clean to dog menace.
The appointment of Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan as Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Commissioner is lauded by one and all. This step was needed to enthuse the working of SMC towards betterment.
Pertinent to mention here that made it to the Indian Administrative Services securing the second rank in 2017. He has been shifted from Rajasthan cadre to Jammu and Kashmir. Athar had been given Rajasthan cadre when there was no vacancy in Jammu & Kashmir. Khan belongs to Devipora-Mattan village in Anantnag district of South Kashmir.
Now in latest order of the Jammu and Kashmir Government Athar Aamir UI Shafi Khan (IAS), awaiting orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department, has been posted as Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan made it to the Indian Administrative Services securing the second rank in 2017.
A delegation told us on this development:
“From cleaning the streets to the Dog menace and looking after the well-being of the Srinagar city Srinagar Municipal Corporation is the most important department for we the people of Kashmir .We hope young and dynamic Athar Amir as SMC commissioner would take the development of Srinagar city to new direction and look keenly towards making Srinagar a world class city .We wish him best of luck. One hopes he cleans the rot in SMC and makes it paragon of Development.
