Srinagar: In his second visit to Jammu and Kashmir in little over a month, Indian Army General VK Singh, Monday reviewed ‘operational preparedness in view of changing environment’ and security scenario in the Valley. A statement from Public Relations Office, Ministry Of Defence here said that soon after his arrival, Singh chaired reviewed operational preparedness in the Valley in view of changing environment and security scenario.  Later, Singh visited the troops deployed in high altitude areas and on the Line of Control.   The visit comes in the face of persistent demands for reduction of troops and repeal of the special powers enjoyed by troops under the AFSPA.Earlier, army chief along with Mrs Bharti Singh, President, Central Family Welfare organization, were received by Lieutenant General KT Parnaik, Army Commander, Northern Command and Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain, Corps Commander, Chinar Corps. Mrs Bharti Singh visited Army Base Hospital at Srinagar and interacted with the patients.   On February 15 last, Indian Army chief reviewed the security situation at the headquarters of the Northern Command in Udhampur Jammu.
