New Delhi, May 4 The South Delhi Municipal Corporation on Wednesday conducted its anti-encroachment drive from roads near the Karni Singh Shooting Range in Tughlakabad area using bulldozers and said that all encroachment in south Delhi will be removed.
The SDMC earlier submitted a detailed list of areas where anti-encroachments are rampant.
“SDMC has started an anti-encroachment drive from Tughlakabad area. The corporation will clear encroachments from South Delhi,” Rajpal Singh, Chairman, Central Zone, SDMC, said
He said the bulldozers will run against encroachers over 10 days in various places of South Delhi. The corporation has started the drive from the road near the Karni Singh Shooting Range area.
The other areas where actions are scheduled included Kalindi Kunj Main Road, Sriniwaspuri Private Colony, Main Road Shaheen Bagh, Gurudwara Road, Mehar Chand Market, Lodhi Colony and Dhirsen Marg.
“The corporation has already prepared a detailed list of areas where anti-encroachment drives will be done. The drive will be run from April 4 to 13,” Singh added.
Earlier, the East Delhi Municipal Corporation conducted a similar drive at Mansarover Park area on Monday and cleared pavements and makeshift shops from the roadside.
