Srinagar: Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (IuM) headed by Moulana Muhammad Abbas Ansari Wednesday termed the suspension from executive council of Hurriyat Conference (M) as ‘unconstitutional and unfortunate.” In its eight page reply to show cause notice by amalgam for meeting New Delhi appointed interlocutors in contravention to conglomerates collective decision to boycott them, the IuM president Masroor Ansari said, “The manner in which the name of Abbas Ansari was blown up in this issue is unacceptable to IuM. The one sided decision by Hurriyat Conference has been blown out of proportions by certain sections which try to cause a serious damage to reputation of our party.”    Referring to Moulana Abbas Ansari’s meeting with the interlocutors headed by journalist Dileep Paggonkar, Masroor said that the party patron neither violated the Hurriyat decision nor held talks with them. “He only welcomed the guests in lieu with Muslim tradition,” he said, underlining that the meeting was not ‘secret’ one.  “We have also attached a copy of email in which Moulana Abbas Ansari has rejected offer by the interlocutors,” a statement here to PBI said.  On April 21 last, Mirwaiz had darted notice to the IuM asking him to explain why the party violated the “collective decision” of not meeting the interlocutors.As chairman of the amalgam, Mirwaiz had issued notice to head of IuM, Masroor Abbas Ansari, seeking an explanation from him about his father Moulana Abbas Ansari’s meeting with the three member New Delhi panel on April 20.  IuM is among the founder constituents of Hurriyat Conference and one of the parties which have representatives in the highest decision-making body, the Executive Committee.  Abbas Ansari was also the chairman of the Hurriyat Conference.
