Another batch of pilgrims leave for Amarnath Shrine amid rains

Jammu: Amid rains a fresh batch of 3,199 pilgrims today left for the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine situated in South Kashmir Himalayas under tight security arrangements.

The batch of pilgrims this morning left from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp here.

“The batch comprising 2,122 males, 747 females, 80 children and 250 sadhus this morning at around 0500 hrs left for the Amarnath in a convoy of 102 vehicles including 59 SRTC buses, 14 private and 29 Light Motor Vehicles,” an official spokesman said.
