Jammu: A fresh batch of 4,855 pilgrims today left for the holy Amarnath cave shrine situated in south Kashmir Himalayas under tight security arrangements.
The batch of pilgrims this morning left from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp here.
“The batch comprising 2,641 males, 1,755 females, 141 children and 298 sadhus this morning at around 0500 hrs left for the Amarnath in a convoy of 130 vehicles including 46 SRTC buses, 41 private, 41 Light Motor Vehicles and two motorbikes,” an official spokesman here said.
