Jammu: A fresh batch of 3,690 pilgrims today left for Kashmir to have darshans at the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas Base Camp here amid tight security arrangements.
“Another batch of total 3,690 pilgrims comprising 2,421 male, 965 female, 107 children and 197 sadhu this morning left for the Amarnath in a convoy of 119 vehicles this morning at around 0505,” a police spokesman here told.
They said 31 state road buses, 47 private and 41 light motor vehicles left for the cave from the base camp.
The yatra, which remained suspended on Friday from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes due to inclement weather, was resumed last evening and so far about two lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at the cave shrine.
