Srinagar: Senior Vice president of Awami National Conference Muzaffar Shah Friday said that rulers in Jammu and Kashmir are only concerned about the power and they are not even remotely concerned to mitigate problems facing common masses.

After completing tour of north Kashmir, Mr Muzaffar Shah blamed National Conference, Congress and PDP for the miseries of people.
“In last 15 to 16 years, these parties are refusing to face the reality that they are responsible for record corruption and moral degradation of society in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said in a statement issued here.
Referring to the government decision to hold municipal polls in the state before October, he said, “People associated with tourism and handicrafts have been eagerly waiting for tourism season to start so that they could earn bread and butter after six months of idleness. However, government is adamant on holding municipal polls and this news has worried the people especially houseboat owners and people linked with handicrafts.”
He also termed as unfortunate the eagerness of opposition parties on holding the polls at this time of the year. “They are infact pushing government for municipal polls,” he said further. He said that if the government remains adamant on holding the polls before October, it will have serious consequences and all the blame shall lie on ruling leaders and opposition.
