Srinagar, Mar 1 (KMW): Awami National Conference (ANC) on Saturday commenced its selection as well as nomination of its candidates for the upcoming parliamentary and assembly elections.
According to a statement issued to KMW, the party has enunciated that only the candidates with a clean track-record and lauded image among the public would be provided the mandate on the platform of ANC.
The party patron in a statement has mentioned that for a state with more than a crore of population a very well thought plan and manifesto needs to be charted out for the sustained, progressive and prosperous development of the state on all fronts be it economic, agricultural, industrial, infra-structural, cultural, administrative et al and the fruits of which can also be relished by the coming generations.
Moreover, the president of ANC Begum Khalida Shah while addressing a convention of party workers at Jammu stated that it was high time that they started preferring the good and betterment of the entire state at large in place of their own benefits and self enrichment.
Begum Shah reiterated that if they succeeded to forge ahead on the above mentioned principles then the day was not far when J&K would be rid of the cancer of corruption, nepotism, bad-governance, human rights violations and stand out as a model state for the entire country at large, as such.
Begum Shah further appealed to all those who till date had openly and without hesitation helped the anti-social and anti-people elements to backtrack and revert to the path of welfare and betterment of people failing which their activities would be exposed to the public and their ends would be miserable, consequently.
Pertinently the party is giving shape to an election committee under the ace leadership of the party president Begum Khalida Shah to select the right candidates with a clean track record and lauded public image for the upcoming parliamentary and assembly elections for all the three regions of the state. “It was made clear that the committee would comprise of the members from all the three regions of the state to make the selections even more effective, qualitative and mass oriented.†(KMW)
