Srinagar: In a bid to launch an effective campaign against corruption and black laws, thousand of Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference workers joined in a protest march led by their Senior Vice President Mr. Muzaffar Shah today in Srinagar. This march which commenced from the residence of Party President Begum Khalida Shah and culminated at party head Quarters situated in the close vicinity of historic Lal Chowk. The ANC public campaign launched against removal of corruption, abrogation of Disturbed Area Act, and release of political detunes was given a very warm welcome by people enroute who joined the slogan chanting procession appreciation the ANC endeavor to come on the streets and raise the people,s voice for combating corruption, bad governance and other ills inflicting our society.
While addressing the rally outside the Party Office, Mr. Muzaffar Shah said that in order to fight corruption, a cleansing operation has to be undertaken. The people in public life should come clean on their assets and incomes and as a first step in this direction. ANC leadership has today published in all the leading news papers the property and income details of ANC founder president and former Chief Minister Late G.M.Shah, Party President Begum Khalida Shah and Mr. Muzaffar Shah.
Speaking to media at the press conference after the protest march, he said that all public figures should declare their assets and income before the people and come clean before the people’s court. Misleading the common man by mere lip service shall not be tolerated any more .Mr. Shah also appraised the media about the various PIL,s and RTI,s filed by ANC and the progress made in these Cases ,the details of which were available to the people by ANC through all local Print media today. Mr. Muzaffar Shah further stated that ANC shall hold such protest marches at all district head quarters of the State and the concerned District Presidents of ANC shall head the ANC RTI cell in their respective districts.. He said that time has come when the people will judge for them selves and take to streets and protest against the prevailing rampant corruption and take the corrupt leadership to task. Speaking on the repealing of the black laws he said that coalition government in office and the opposition having the legislative members in the assembly could easily work out the method of revoking the disturbed area act in the state. Unfortunately none of them have the courage, the conscience or the will power to do so as their main aim was to grab power for their personal political interests. There was no need for the people in power to present themselves before the armed forces as this country and the state is function in a democratic setup and not under the rule of the forces.
On the occasion, the Batamaloo Block President of National Conference (NC) and Chairman of coordination committee Batmaloo (NC) Mr. Abdul Siraj joined Awami National Conference with other member of the coordination committee along with hundreds of their workers in presence of Mr. Muzaffar Shah during the press Conference today. Party President Begum Khalida Shah has welcomed them into the party.
