New Delhi: The all party meeting called by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tonight on the Lokpal issue ended without any consensus on the issue.
Sources said there was a divergence of views at the meeting. For example, while the BJP favoured inclusion of group C and Group D employees in the ambit of the Lokpal bill, the Left parties opposed it. Also, the parties expressed diverse views on inclusion of the Prime Minister under the Lokpal. While the CPI (M) and the BJP favoured inclusion of PM under the ambit of Lokpal, other parties like the Lok Janshakti party of Ram Vilas Paswan opposed it. The parties also expressed divergent views on inclusion of lower bureaucracy in the ambit of Lokpal.
