With reference to developments of Minority community in Jammu and Kashmir, on 21st June 2023 “All J&K Christian Sabha” had a public meeting with the local underprivileged Christian community of Kashmir and heard their issues and problems, which is not addressed by any of the Government of J&K, people of this community are deprived from all Govt benefits and Schemes and moreover not been given any representation in government to raise their voice. In this regard, The delegation AKCS met DC Srinagar and Mayor of Srinagar and forward the demand and issues of this underprivileged community for its positive and early solution. On the occasion, Ashu Peter Mattoo Presdent AJKCS) highlighted the issue that the people of Christian community of Srinagar are mostly homeless despite of their existence from decades , no Government job opportunity for this section of society , no representation to raise their voice in Government, deprived from all the Government schemes Like, AWAS Yojana, health police scheme, schlorship schemes, loan scheme for self employment and many other schemes, he added that the people of this section of society are been ignored at large further he said that they have met the DC Srinagar and forwarded a letter to provide housing to the homeless people of Christian community under PMAY scheme and have met Mayor of Srinagar and asked him to provide Nominated Councillor to Christian community under Municipal Act 2000 clause 10.
Also,Ms. Nisha Samuel (National Executive AJKCS) added that Christian community is not getting the benefit of different development policies as other Miniority are enjoying the benefits of government schemes, she has also given an assurance to raise the issues and problems at national level for its positive response and emphasis to boost Christian leadership in Government.
