Srinagar: Within the 24 hours after Habibullah Mir, Sarpanch of Gouripora-Sopore was killed by some unknown gunmen, yet another gory incident was witnessed in same town after Zoona Begum the Punch of a village in Sopore was shot at her home in Hardshiva village of the town. According to KMW sources received here the bullet ridden body of said women Punch is critical and is shifted to SKIMS, for better treatment. Reports said that the woman was affiliated to Congress.
Meanwhile Minister for Panchayati Raj Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today visited Sopore where he condoles family of Sarpanch Habibullah Mir. Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah Omar ruled out security to “each and every” panch saying that “most parts of the state face no threat from militants”. (KMW News)
